The Trust has ambitious plans over the next few years to grow significantly and as a result we are seeking to recruit a Peripatetic Administrator to join the team and play a key role in managing the school administration for our satellite bases as well as being directly supporting the administration of Estates & Compliance Management on our bases.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator who wants to undertake a key role within a fast moving environment and who understands the needs of our pupils. We are looking for an ambitious and motivated person who will join our team and make the role their own and have a positive impact on the administration of schools in the Trust.

Candidates should have experience of working within a busy school environment and the skills, knowledge and experience of dealing with a range of challenges relating to administration, estates, health and safety and compliance. The individual should be confident in working on their own initiative, setting priorities and managing a complex, diverse and busy workload.

ACE Schools Multi Academy Trust (ACE MAT)
Regional Cluster Representative Role

School governance
To contribute to the work of the Board by monitoring high standards of achievement for all pupils in ACE
Schools Multi Academy Trust Academies by:
i. Ensuring the vision, ethos and strategic direction determined by the Board are in evidence.
ii. Monitoring and reporting on the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the
performance of teaching and support staff.
iii. Ensuring that safeguarding processes for pupils and staff are robust, understood and effectively
implemented.
iv. Through regular school visits and talking to staff and pupils, ensure that results as reported appear
to correlate with actual performance witnessed.

At ACE Schools MAT, the ultimate governance responsibility lies with the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees have three sub committees, Leadership Group, Finance and Audit, and the Education and Safeguarding Committee. The Regional Cluster committees report to the Trustees via the Chair’s report together with visits summaries through the Education and Safeguarding Committee. ACE Schools MAT have formed two Regional Clusters for Devon and Plymouth and are in the process of forming a Regional Cluster for Cornwall.

The Regional Clusters are formed from four community Representatives, two parent Representatives and two staff Representatives. The Head teachers of the schools will report to the Cluster in their area. The ACE MAT Executive team and representatives of the Board of Trustees will attend Regional Cluster meetings as required which are held once every half term.

The Regional Clusters will perform tasks as directed by the scheme of delegation of the Board of Trustees. In the Terms of Reference, a Representative is a  members of the Regional Cluster while a Trustee is a member of the Board. School or schools refers to any ACE MAT school, academy or education setting within the region of the Cluster.

Teaching Assistant

ACE Schools Plymouth AP Academy (part of ACE Schools Trust) was formally set up on 1st June 2016 with the aim of building on the solid foundation established by the previous PRU. ACE Schools Plymouth operates from at least fourteen different locations within Devon and Cornwall which provides education and support services throughout the community to support pupils to access education in schools, community centre’s, medical facilities or their own homes.  

ACE Health and Welfare: Terraces

ACE provide the education element to all pupils who attend the Terraces Day Assessment Unit known as the Children’s Day Program, this is a diagnostic unit run by Livewell Southwest for young people exhibiting complex neuro developmental-psychological problems. Referral is made by Medical Consultant pathway.

We work closely with the medical staff, schools and parents to best assist with the assessment and diagnosis of the children and provide educational advice and feedback to the child’s school following the assessment process. Pupils attend for two days per week for a four week package, there are not usually more than 5 or 6 children aged between 4 and 14 years. Some children may attend the CDP twice and so have an eight week assessment but this is rare.

As part of your role, you will also be required to undertake Managing Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training if you don’t already hold this certificate as part of your induction. You will be required to work within KS3 and KS4, and possibly younger pupils, within ACE Tiverton and the wider community.
